EMPIRE STATE BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION FATALITIES:

According to official records, five people died while constructing the Empire State Building. One was struck by a truck, another committed suicide down an elevator shaft, a third was killed by explosives, a fourth struck by a hoist and the fifth fell from scaffolding.

Total height: 1,454 feet (443.2 m) incl. antenna.

With the destruction of the World Trade Center in the September 11 attacks in 2001, the Empire State Building again became the tallest building in New York City,
